An Outdoor Exhibit at the New-York Historical Society
July 06, 2020
Beginning on August 14, you can take a self-guided tour of the New-York Historical Society’s latest installation, “Hope Wanted: New York City Under Quarantine.”
Photographer Kay Hickman and human-rights activist/journalist Kevin Powell traveled across the five boroughs to interview and photograph a cross-section of New Yorkers during the height of the pandemic. “Hope Wanted” features candid photographs, personal artifacts, and audio interviews that are accessible by smartphone.
Admission is free and the exhibit will be staged in the museum’s outdoor courtyard, located at West 76th Street between Central Park West and Columbus. Face coverings will be required and capacity will be limited through timed-entry tickets to ensure everyone stays safe while enjoying the artwork.
